The softball and kickball season is here. Please consider our tournament as you slot in events for the year.

The Chanhassen Lions want to formally invite you to our third annual Freedom Invitational, men’s and women’s tournament called the "The Firecracker" to be held at Lake Ann Park on June 25th, 26th and 27th. We are planning for 20 - 24 Men’s teams and four games will be played on Friday for those teams wanting to sleep in on Saturday. We are working hard to get this tournament established and hope you can slot it in your schedule, the men’s entry fee is $150 and we are offering a early discount of $20 for entries received by May 15th. First place pays $250 in A Bracket and even in the C Bracket you can win $75 for third place.

On Sat. and Sun. there will also be an eight-team women's tournament (entry fee $125.00) with a early discount of $20 for entries received by May 15th. Please promote the flier to other women's team that might want to participate.

There will also be a 16 team kickball tournament called the “Big Bang” on the baseball fields. There are two divisions: Division A (Entry Fee is $100) is for competitive league teams and has prize money for the winners. Division B (Entry Fee is $25) is for Chanhassen area pick-up teams to become introduced to sport. Games are scheduled for Sat. the 26th and Sun. the 27th on field 2 & 3. There will be lots of action and some great entertainment all weekend.

On Sunday there will be a demonstration by the Minnesota blind softball team that plays with a beeping softball. They are one of the charities that will be supported by Chan Lions this year. It will help us all appreciate the great freedoms we all enjoy.

Concessions include: Beer, Pop, Hot-dogs, Brats and Hamburgers and snacks, served by Chanhassen Lions and CAA (Chanhassen Athletic Assoc.) with all proceeds going back to the community, CAA, the Foundation Fighting Blindness and the Legion Memorial in downtown Chanhassen.
